WELCOME

At St Andrew Chiropractic Clinic our objective is to help you reach your optimum health through a wide range of techniques and therapies. Getting out of pain is why most people visit a chiropractor but improving biomechanics, stabilising spinal and nervous system function and strengthening your body on a whole to prevent reoccurrence are paramount in leading a healthy lifestyle. From your first visit we take the time to listen to your concerns, hopes and individual goals. It is our job to instil confidence in you that you have the choice to take control of your health. We will design a care plan that focuses on alleviating the immediate problem, increasing your overall wellbeing and enabling you to become an active participant in your own healthcare. We want you to feel respected, listened to and genuinely cared for. We’re here to help.

WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC

Chiropractic is an evidence-based healthcare discipline firmly grounded in science. Chiropractors must undergo extensive training and earn a degree,  MSc, MChiro or DC (Doctor of Chiropractic), in order to qualify as primary healthcare providers. All activity is regulated by the General Chiropractic Council and practitioners are required to adhere to its code of practice and standard of proficiency, as well as undergoing continuing professional development.
The word "chiropractic" comes from the Greek words cheir (hand) and praxis (action), and simply means "done by hand."
Chiropractic focuses on restoring, preserving, and optimising health through non-invasive, natural hands-on care, in other words without the use of drugs or surgery. Chiropractors specialise in the treatment of the neuro-musculoskeletal system (meaning the nervous system, joints and muscles). Most commonly patients seek help with back and neck pain, but the whole system works better with a properly functioning nervous system.
Your nervous system is largely housed by your spine and skull, so these areas are where we typically focus much of our efforts, assessing where poor functioning joints, cranial bones (TMJ), muscles and nerves result in pain and mobility problems as well as general poor health. Typically chiropractic treatment involves a blend of skilful realignment, coupled with nutritional and lifestyle advice, and an exercise programme.
Chiropractic is suitable for all ages. Eric has treated patients as young as 2 weeks and as old as 94.
Chiropractic is a regulated profession governed by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). No one can claim to be a chiropractor in the U.K. without being registered with the GCC. Should you have any other questions about chiropractic and whether it is suitable for you, please contact the clinic. Alternatively, you can find further information by visiting the websites of the General Chiropractic Council or the British Chiropractic Association

TEAM

St Andrew Chiropractic Clinic is owned and run by Eric Pahl, Doctor of Chiropractic, who has had a life-long relationship with the profession. He started seeing his family’s chiropractor in Los Angeles, where he grew up, from early childhood. He credits his avoidance of injury to the care he received from his chiropractors that saw him through many active years of cycling, skiing, rock climbing and running. Their warm, personal and attentive approach inspired him as a young man and lead him to follow down the same professional path later on in life. As a highly skilled and experienced chiropractor, Eric is known for his gentle, non-invasive treatments which produce highly effective results for his patients. After completing his undergraduate studies (BA) in California, Spain and France, Eric studied chiropractic at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles and the Anglo-European Chiropractic College (AECC), from which he graduated in 2013. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) training at the Royal College of Chiropractors. Eric spent the next years working at clinics in Bath and Brecon before opening his own practice in Somerset. He is passionate about his work and enjoys treating patients of all ages using a wealth of techniques including Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), Diversified, Pregnancy & Paediatric Chiropractic, as well as Functional Assessment for the rehabilitation of muscular and postural disorders. Eric is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), the Royal College of Chiropractors (RCC) and is a member of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) as well as the Sacro-Occipital Technique Organisation (SOTO) Europe. In his spare time Eric enjoys playing tennis, piano, guitar, cooking and spending time with his family.

Ben is a highly experienced Chiropractor who is passionate about helping you to achieve your health and wellness goals. He treats every patient with patience and compassion, taking the time to listen and learn about you and your history.

Ben also specialises in treating pregnant women, newborns, babies and children. Over the past decade he has successfully supported hundreds of parents and little ones with managing conditions such as Reflux, Colic, Torticollis and Plagiocephaly.

Ben recognises that each and every person is unique and no two cases are the same, which informs his approach to creating a bespoke treatment plan. Ben uses a diversified approach practicing joint manipulations, Chiropractic adjustments (most commonly referred to as clicks!) combined with soft tissue work (massage) and muscle testing / release.

In his spare time, Ben works as a Locum Chiropractor, travelling across Europe supporting clinics and bringing his Paediatric expertise far and wide.

Ben also loves spending time with his wife and four children. He is a keen grower of fruit and vegetables and enjoys DIY projects too. Ben also shoots target rifle and has been fortunate enough to represent Great Britain in his sport
